BRing Fast Pulsed Diode Magnet Power Supply Prototype Development Plan Passed Review

BRing fast pulsed dipole magnet power supply is one of the key technologies of the "Strong Current Heavy Ion Accelerator Device" of the National Twelfth Five-Year National Science and Technology Infrastructure Research Project. On July 15th, the Institute of Modern Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences held an expert review meeting for the development and design of the BRing Fast Pulsed 2-pole magnet power prototype. The meeting was presided over by Xiao Guoqing, the director of the Institute of Modern Physics. Six experts from the Institute of High Energy Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Shanghai Institute of Applied Physics and Hefei University of Technology were invited.

The meeting held a lively discussion around BRing's two-pole magnet power supply prototype technology design, implementation scheme, and high power converter process structure design. The review experts combined the design and operation experience of BEPC2, SSRF, CSNS and other devices' power supply systems, from the power supply topology, power supply technology indicators, digital controllers, sensors and reference sources, protection systems, energy treatment methods, process design and module selection, and bidding schemes. As well as standards and other aspects of the design program for a rigorous review, and put forward constructive comments and suggestions.

After discussions and inquiries, the expert group believed that the HIAF-BRing two-pole magnet power supply prototype design program fully considered the HIAF requirements and possible risks during the operation of the accelerator. The design was reasonable and the plan was feasible. They all agreed to pass the scheme review.
